WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM?
Gideon News is a members news magazine that was traditionally produced in A5 format. They wanted to make their output easier to read so the decision was made to switch to A4 instead. Our task was to update their design to reflect this change and also to up their social media presence within the magazine.
HOW DID WE DELIGHT THEM?
This magazine has the broadest readership – from people in their 20s through to readers well into their 70s – so we had to be mindful of that. We created a design that was bold and modern but yet not too off-putting for the older readership. This included making pictures bigger and giving the text a lot more room to breathe and be noticed. The end result is a smart, clean design with a contemporary twist. We’re also producing a large print version for those with reading difficulties.

Our updating of the magazine has been universally well received by Gideon and their readers.
